About the role:

Data Science Dojo is seeking a passionate and influential individual to join our team of Part-Time Instructors and Mentors. 

As a Part-Time Instructor, you’ll deliver instructions to students in our training programs for pre-assigned modules. You will be responsible for facilitating learning, ensuring a meaningful learning experience for the students, and meeting curriculum timelines. In addition to delivering instructions, you’ll also engage the students in interactive learning activities, provide feedback on the curriculum and instructions to the instructional designers and content developers, and play the role of a mentor to the students to help them shape their careers. 

What you will do:

  • Attend assigned module class sessions and scheduled office hours 
  • Deliver 20 hours of instructions per week for pre-assigned modules in training programs 
  • Provide feedback on instructions and curriculum to instructional designers and content developers 
  • Follow assigned module curriculum and deliver instructions in an engaging and impactful manner 
  • Collaborate with content developers, data scientists, and instructional designers to enhance training programs 
  • Suggest curriculum changes based on market trends and student needs 
  • Engage students in interactive learning activities, including homework assignments, real-world projects, and group discussions 

What we are looking for:

  • Strong academic background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, and/or Statistics 
  • Minimum experience of 1 year in the field in data science, including delivering workshops and mentoring sessions 
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, and related libraries (pandas, numpy) 
  • Experience in creating, assessing, and evaluating statistical models 
  • Ability to build and apply machine learning models in Python 
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, experimental design, data visualization, and data analysis techniques 
  • Ability to understand and explain the function of machine learning algorithms 
  • Passion for delivering instructions to future data scientists 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment 
  • Awareness of recent trends in data science and machine learning 
    • Proficiency with NLP Python libraries such as NLTK, Hadoop, Apache Spark, and/or R 
    • Knowledge of best practices in a classroom environment.
