Web Developer – WordPress

Our website is the front door to Data Science Dojo and Ejento AI, where learners, partners, and curious minds first meet our mission. As we scale our AI education platforms, we need a Web Developer – WordPress who can transform WordPress into a dynamic, high-performance experience that adapts as fast as we do. Your work will directly shape how the world discovers and interacts with our brand.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Web development & enhancement: Build, maintain, and evolve our WordPress site for speed, reliability, and a seamless user journey.
  • Content & collaboration: Work closely with designers, marketers, and content creators to launch new features and keep our site fresh.
  • Code craftsmanship: Write clean, efficient, and testable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP.
  • Performance & SEO: Optimize site speed, technical SEO, and user experience using analytics and best practices.
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshoot bugs, resolve performance issues, and ensure the site runs smoothly for a global audience.
  • Trendspotting: Stay on top of web development trends and propose new ideas to keep our digital presence ahead of the curve.
  • Team support: Share your WordPress expertise and help teammates level up when needed.

The skills and expertise you bring:

  • 1+ years of web development experience (internships, school projects, or equivalent experience count); degree in Software/Computer Engineering, Design, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems, WordPress and similar platforms (e.g., Drupal, Joomla).
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP.
  • Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals and familiarity with tools like Google Search Console or SEMrush.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
  • Exposure to web analytics and user insight tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar).

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience optimizing WordPress for high-traffic or international audiences.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design.
  • Knowledge of website security best practices and plugin management.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs or marketing automation tools.
