Lance Milner received his Master’s Degree in Statistics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
I think that Data Science Dojo was good because it was able to – this was a chance for me to increase my skills in R which is of course a much more marketable field than anything else that I’d done before and I also just wanted to see the different types of data, the different types of techniques that are out there.
The instructors were very good. The instructors are very useful and they were able to kind of bring things to a very wide audience. So there are some people in the class who had very little data science experience and some who had graduate degrees in statistics.
And also they provide a lot of resources so I was very able to, for the things that I didn’t know in R and I didn’t see the examples for, the books that we were given were very useful. If you hadn’t done that training ahead of time, the R would have been very difficult, but the training ahead of time was very good and was able to get us on track.
There’s a number of people that I’ve exchanged some contact information and will probably be sharing experiences and sharing notes later on as we as we go. They’re really good people it’s been really nice to just meet with them during breaks in at lunch and kind of get to know what they do professionally and kind of get an idea of what the various people are doing
There’s been a wide range of experiences in this particular class. There’s going to be some meetups locally so that, I think, is going to be very useful as well so I can even meet other Data Science Dojo alumni. And so I think everybody was able to gather something useful out of it.
