About the role:

Are you a detail-oriented law student eager to gain hands-on experience in corporate legal processes? Do you have a passion for legal research, contract drafting, and compliance? If so, we’re looking for a Legal and Compliance Intern to join our team. In this role, you will support our legal team by assisting with research, drafting legal documents, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Your contributions will play a crucial role in safeguarding our business operations and enhancing our legal frameworks.

What you will do:

  • Conduct legal research and draft key legal documents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Prepare, draft, and review various contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, NDAs, and employment contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  • Assist in the filing and management of business certifications and regulatory legal documentation.
  • Support the development and review of internal policies to align with legal and compliance requirements.
  • Draft and respond to legal notices, letters, and formal communications, maintaining legal accuracy and professionalism.
  • Execute assigned legal tasks and projects efficiently, ensuring adherence to deadlines and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless legal operations and compliance across the organization.
  • Assist in reviewing and interpreting open-source licenses (e.g., MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL, etc.) to ensure the company’s use of these packages aligns with the license terms.
  • Facilitate maintaining a compliance matrix or database that tracks the license obligations for each open-source component.
  • Identify potential legal or intellectual property risks, such as copyleft obligations, patent clauses, or attribution requirements.
  • Prepare and review attribution notices, copyright statements, and other required documentation to be included in the company’s products.

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in LLB or currently in the final year of LLB.
  • Strong understanding of legal drafting and structuring of contracts and related documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work independently and within a team as per the task requirements.
