About the role

Data Science Dojo is seeking a talented individual to join our rapidly growing organization as a Data Science Trainee. In this role, you will actively participate in our top-rated training programs, contribute to curriculum development, conduct research to stay up to date with the latest trends in data science and create effective content for our audience.  As we highly value data, you will be expected to leverage insights from credible sources to enhance your work. You will collaborate closely with other exceptional individuals across our engineering, development, marketing, and social media teams. Fluency in English is required. 

What you’ll do

Your mission

  1. Develop and refine the course content for Data Science Dojo and assist in curriculum development for training materials. 
  2. Find and evaluate interesting datasets, and develop innovative ways to use them in tutorials, bootcamps, and meetups. 
  3. Research, curate, and record high-quality tutorials on a variety of data science, big data, and predictive analytics topics. 
  4. Curate, research, and write engaging blog posts on trending data science topics and communicate them effectively to the audience. 
  5. Stay up to date with the latest news, job opportunities, and other happenings in the data science field, and communicate them to the audience. 
  6. Curate code samples used in workshops and bootcamps and manage the associated git repository to ensure accessibility and organization. 
  7. Define clear metrics of success for products and services, and track progress effectively to ensure continual improvement. 

What we are looking for

  • An undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Solid understanding of fundamental concepts in data science, machine learning, and statistical inference. 
  • Proficiency in R, RStudio, and/or Python programming languages. 
  • Working knowledge of big data concepts like Hadoop, MapReduce, and HDFS. 
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP ecosystems. 
  • Some understanding of Hive, Pig, and Mahout. 
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to make decisions, devise strategies, and measure the progress of projects over time. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. 
  • Willingness to work both independently and as part of a team, as per the needs of a project. 
  • A strong passion for data science, machine learning, and modern trends in science and engineering.
