Business Development Specialist

About the job role:

We are looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Specialist to accelerate our company’s growth by identifying, nurturing, and converting new business opportunities. In this role, you will play a key part in expanding our customer base, strengthening relationships with existing clients, and aligning customer needs with our solutions. You will leverage CRM tools to manage the sales pipeline, track leads, and ensure a seamless journey from prospect to partner. This is a role for someone who thrives on building meaningful connections, enjoys strategic problem-solving, and is motivated to contribute directly to revenue growth and long-term business success.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute high-volume cold calling strategies to drive new business opportunities and meet revenue targets.
  • Identify and qualify potential leads through outbound channels including cold calls, follow-up calls, and prospecting lists.
  • Confidently introduce and position Data Science Dojo’s training offerings to decision-makers, securing meetings and product demos.
  • Handle objections effectively, build rapport quickly, and communicate the value proposition to generate interest and move leads through the sales funnel.
  • Manage outreach sequences (calls, follow-up emails, LinkedIn touches) to ensure consistent engagement and maximize conversion rates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity logs, call notes, and pipeline information in the CRM (HubSpot).
  • Schedule and conduct presentations/demos in collaboration with the sales team to close deals.
  • Achieve daily/weekly call volume and meeting booking targets, tracking progress against KPIs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and prospect pain points to tailor outreach and maximize impact.
  • Contribute to overall sales team success by sharing best practices in cold calling, objection handling, and conversion strategies.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or prospecting-based marketing outreach.
  • Proficiency with cold calling and sales engagement tools (e.g., Aircall, Outreach, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator etc).
  • Hands-on experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) for pipeline tracking, activity logging, and reporting.
  • Previous customer-facing or call-driven role is highly valued, demonstrating comfort with high-volume outreach.
  • Strong persuasion, objection-handling, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and consistently hit outreach targets in a fast-paced sales environment.
