I just attended Data Science Bootcamp in New York in July 2017. I wasn’t sure how they would cover all the topics in the curriculum within 5 days. But to my surprise, they exceeded my expectation. I thoroughly enjoyed the intense, yet fun learning at the bootcamp. I am now well-equipped with data science terminologies and underlying statistical fundamentals. They provided good pre-bootcamp materials before the camp and had well-organized content during 5-day camp! Two instructors were very knowledgeable and generous with their times. This is a great bootcamp for anyone trying to get started or advance their skills with machine learning and predictive analytics. There are four things I liked most about this bootcamp. First, the diversity of attendants. Second, they provided a roadmap for data science study even for starters. It was challenging it’s a lot of material to take in within a week. A wide range of topics were covered and the training doesn’t stop here. This just gives us the tools now to better understand what we need to do next. I think to me the learning and the direction really starts after the bootcamp. Before I joined the bootcamp I didn’t necessarily know all of the different aspects and elements of data science and predictive modeling, now that I have a better sense of it I know where I need to personally focus on based on the subject matter of that I’m dealing with – Marais Lombard attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

Data Science Dojo is an amazing intro to data science. You can do the free stuff online but being able to have in person discussion on topics that may not be familiar or easily understood is worth the time and money. The five day format is a great length to learn enough to start but not to long as to make it difficult for a person to attend due to work and family obligation. I came to the bootcamp because I had tried to learn machine learning and data science techniques on my own from books and online classes, but I had trouble finding the time to work through math, and even when I did, I didn’t really understand what I was doing. What was great about Data Science Dojo was that the credibility was clear in terms of the background of the staff and the faculty, and the kind of alumni that have come from there. The idea that it took a week’s worth of time was very practical for me. I attended the Washington DC bootcamp from May 8 to 12th. I signed up for this bootcamp because of the reviews and video testimonials from the previous bootcamp attendees and I was not disappointed! David Langer was our instructor. His teaching quality was exceptional. His real life analogies throughout the bootcamp assisted the learning. He has a thorough knowledge on the subjects he teaches and patiently answered all the attendees questions and clarifications – be it during the class or after – Siddarth Seshadri attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.
