About the role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team of Instructors and Mentors at Data Science Dojo. 

As a Full-Time Instructor, you’ll bring your human touch to the classroom, delivering engaging instructions and facilitating a meaningful learning experience for our students. You’ll collaborate with our team of experts to update the curriculum and ensure it aligns with industry demands. Along with guiding and mentoring students, you’ll also assign real-world projects and homework assignments to complement the instructions. 

What you will do:

  • Attend all class sessions and hold scheduled office hours for student support 
  • Deliver engaging and impactful instructions for training programs of 40 hours per week to different cohorts of students 
  • Collaborate with content development and data science teams to design and plan curriculum for training programs 
  • Follow the curriculum to deliver instructions and incorporate interactive learning activities such as homework assignments, real-world projects, and group discussions 
  • Work with instructional designers to add value to training programs and provide mentorship and guidance to students 
  • Evaluate student progress and recommend changes and updates to curriculum based on market trends and student needs 

What we are looking for:

  • Strong academic background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, and/or Statistics 
  • Minimum experience of 1 year in the field of data science, including delivering workshops and mentoring sessions 
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, and related libraries (pandas, numpy) 
  • Experience creating, assessing, and evaluating statistical models, and building and applying models in Python using machine learning libraries 
  • Understanding of statistical methods, experimental design, data visualization, and data analysis techniques, as well as machine learning algorithms such as regularized regression, naive bayes, decision trees, K-means clustering, and neural networks 
  • Passion for delivering instructions and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Awareness of recent trends in data science and machine learning 
  • Proficiency with NLP python libraries such as NLTK, Hadoop, Apache Spark, and/or R 
  • Knowledge of best practices in a classroom environment
