Associate Software Engineer – Security and Compliance

In a world where one overlooked vulnerability can derail entire AI initiatives, security engineers are being asked to do more than ever: anticipate threats, automate compliance, and safeguard trust at scale.

 

With AI adoption surging, our customers demand ironclad security, privacy, and compliance across SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and beyond. We need an Associate Software Engineer – Security and Compliance who can architect frameworks, automate compliance, and embed security into the DNA of our platform. This is your chance to shape how AI-powered products earn trust in a world where regulations and threats evolve daily.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Architect and implement security frameworks that align with SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and emerging regulatory standards, making compliance a feature, not a bottleneck.
  • Develop and maintain access control, encryption policies, and secure authentication for a platform that powers LLM-based applications.
  • Partner with engineering to embed secure coding practices, data privacy safeguards, and compliance automation into every release.
  • Lead security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing, turning findings into actionable improvements.
  • Design secure cloud architectures and drive best practices for container security, serverless security, and infrastructure hardening (think Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and beyond).
  • Ensure our LLM-powered applications set the bar for secure data handling, logging, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical reality.
  • Build and automate compliance monitoring and reporting tools, so audits are streamlined, not stressful.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on AI-specific security risks, threat intelligence, and regulatory changes.

 

The skills and expertise you bring:

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework in software development using modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks: SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and the evolving landscape of privacy and security standards.
  • Familiarity with security testing tools and practices, SAST, DAST, and integrating security into the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with secure software development, encryption, and access control mechanisms (IAM, RBAC, OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect).
  • Proficiency in cloud security for platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and securing cloud-native applications.
  • Exposure to container security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), serverless security, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with SIEM tools, threat detection, and incident response frameworks.
  • Understanding of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection, and data protection.
  • Interest or experience in security automation, compliance-as-code, and continuous monitoring.

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience securing LLM-based AI applications, data pipelines, or RAG architectures.
  • Familiarity with secure API development, rate limiting, and adversarial attack mitigation for AI/ML models.
  • Knowledge of zero-trust architecture, endpoint security, or advanced threat modeling.
  • Contributions to security open-source projects or industry research.
  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, AWS Security Specialty).
