Jamil is a 20 year veteran of the search and AI industry based in Seattle. As Head of Product, AI at Atlassian, Jamil focuses on delivering transformative ways for teams to work using the power of AI. Prior to Atlassian, Jamil built a career at Microsoft, where Jamil spent over 15 years leading product teams such as Bing Image Search and Video search, which were among the first to leverage computer vision and other deep learning techniques to deliver industry-leading multimedia search experiences. During this time, Jamil led a three-year effort that landed a series of new AI features across other Microsoft products including Outlook, Teams, Windows and Surface, and founded Microsoft’s Services Marketplace business. Outside of the office, Jamil is passionate about youth development, serving in leadership roles with organizations that provide education, sports, and service opportunities to young people across the U.S.
