This is a great bootcamp for anyone trying to get started or advance their skills with machine learning and predictive analytics. The class was fun and engaging, Raja and David were great instructors, and I can apply what I learned in the real world right away. I will definitely be recommending this bootcamp to people I know! – Joshua Warne attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

Overall enthusiasm and depth of knowledge. Dave’s morning recap of the previous day was very valuable. Even though the pace was fast, the bootcamp gave an introduction to key features of R with examples. The exercises helped to reinforce those concepts. Key methods were taught and emphasized, which will enable us to make practical models right away – Joe Czyzyk attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I learnt a lot from the instructors during the bootcamp. I think the bootcamp is for everyone like the motto says. I feel that data science is way of thinking things through, rather than just a job. It as a solution to something. I am a whole different person after the bootcamp – Danish Sayed attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I attempted to take a couple courses online however they don’t necessarily give you the same discussion and the same inside as to the field as a whole and the subtleties of what you’re doing and the ethics behind it which I really liked about Data Science Dojo they really gave me that kind of insight and the discussion is what really made it dynamic – Victoria Butsky attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

My name is Saad Hameed. I currently work at a company called Sumo Logic. My background is really – I started as a software engineer in the industry a long time back and I decided marketing was my real calling and I’ve taken a path to that effect but essentially my role is a true overlap of engineering analytics and marketing in one place so that’s where I sit in the middle somewhere.I’ve been researching for some time now to join some kind of either grad level program or some other program to relearn data science in a very structured manner. I looked at Coursera, another option also and grad school I considered, but none of them really appealed to my need for having interactive dialogue and doing it in a very compressed format because I don’t have like a month to take off for work nor do I have like, you know, dedicate every single evening to studies here. And so therefore I looked at various options and Data Science Dojo is the best option. Yeah great experience a very strong cohort group. Everyone brought their very diverse experiences ranging from “I’m a developer,” to a statistician, to a “I’m an HR person,” you name it. And they each brought their own flavor.I would say having some understanding of the programming language it is really, really essential. Basic statistical concepts really helpful.Raja was outstanding and how he structured the course and how he structured learning and how he kept us all in line to the goal. That is probably most important part of it and how he abstracted the difficult concepts and tried to simplify things as much as he can because otherwise it can be overwhelming and he ensured that we didn’t take tangents too often the focus was always on can you take something with you that you can apply back to your work and then build upon and that is really powerful – Saad Hameed attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I come from a background in biology and math I did health policy in graduate school with the focus on global health with some analytics for a city agency then I did some analytics for a giant health insurance company. So I was very interested in nonparametric methods also learning machine learning and when I came to decision trees or when it came to let’s say neural networks that’s just like, “Ooh. How does that happen, how does that work?”I was impressed with the range of topics covered also a little bit kind of cautious because the scope is so wide, you know. I was like, “Whoa how are you guys going to cover all of this in just a few days?” As I browse the website I thought, “”Oh you know this could be actually some great exercise. What was pleasantly surprising is like, “Whoa I have so many great ideas but i don’t know where to jump first.” And it’s such a like a desire to just master all of these things. And then I was thinking also yeah I’d be great if some of my senior associates like some of the managers could be able to – maybe some of our clients – would be able to kind of sit through something maybe shorter but understand the importance, the promise, the impressive power of a lot of these tools, a lot of his products.I thought it was great I think you know. So I think in general I think it could be useful in filling in missing values it could be useful in helping – complimenting current missing data. Current and kind of insufficient data of certain things do some sort of estimates there – Artem Kopelev attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

Data Science Dojo, like any other course, they are doing a better job at making us aware that we are not going to make the students who are coming here data scientists. We are going to give them enough tools to build what is necessary to go ahead with their careers and that is exactly what has happened at Data Science Dojo – Sriharsha Pasupuleti attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I think this bootcamp is actually really well designed for a lot of different people in different situations. Someone in my situation I’m looking to escalate and incrementally improve stuff that I already do at my job. I think it’s been really effective at doing that and it does a good job of being appealing and applicable to a wide range of backgrounds – Emily McKinney attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I was trained data science three years ago, but because I’m the only data scientist at my position in my company I wanted to find an intensive bootcamp that would sharpen my skills. Most bootcamps are 12 weeks, three months, or a grad degree and I didn’t really need all that. Even though the last experience was a great one it was longer to get my certification through, this one here. Because I’m not going online, because I’m right in front of an instructor – and an instructor who actually has practical real-world experience working with clients – I can get a better answer to what is GINI or why is accuracy more important than specialization or recall, or vice versa, versus sometimes when I’m online the instructor may go over but there is no reinforcement or ability for you to as your questions – Cedric Williams attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I’ve taken a whole bunch of courses actually in data science. I took a bunch online and I took a few in person, but none of them really gave me the confidence that I needed to sort of tackle a huge data project on my own from beginning to end. This is a great program which sort of introduces you to all the different tools and techniques that are out there and also teaches you some of the best practices because that’s pretty important in a real-life situation. That is something that I don’t think a lot of theoretical classes can offer.I really liked the instructors the energy that both Phuc and Raja brought to the classroom was really important, especially for a course like data science, which can be kind of dry when other people teach it. So, I felt like their method of instruction was extremely engaging. It was a lot of fun. There was a lot of laughter in class actually and we had a great time getting to know each other in the classroom. The other students that I met came from very different backgrounds so it was very interesting to get some insight into what kind of problems they’re working on. So, I just found that we learned just as much from the discussion that we’re happening then from the actual slides and the material. You get to learn from these experts who have done machine learning and data science and their day jobs and they can tell you exactly what it’s like in the real world. So, I think that’s pretty useful if that’s the kind of experience you’re looking for – Amina Tariq attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

Instructors (especially David Langer) managed to bring data science topics to a noticeably diverse audience in a way that, at least for me personally, was greatly enriching. I could frame my previous knowledge of algorithms and tools, and helped me articulate them in practical workflows – Augusto Gesualdi attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I thoroughly enjoyed this bootcamp, and I am honestly sad to go back to my job after this experience. I have been doing software development for 6 years, but I have not been satisfied in this area so I have been researching other fields that utilize more of my math degree. I chose this bootcamp because I wasn’t quite sure what data science was all about and I did not want to devote 2 years to a masters program in an area I knew little about. I have to say this bootcamp has ignited my interest in data science and I most definitely would like to pursue it as a career option now – Elena Fiocca attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

I attended the Washington DC bootcamp from May 8 to 12th. I signed up for this bootcamp because of the reviews and video testimonials from the previous bootcamp attendees and I was not disappointed! David Langer was our instructor. His teaching quality was exceptional. His real life analogies throughout the bootcamp assisted the learning. He has a thorough knowledge on the subjects he teaches and patiently answered all the attendees questions and clarifications – be it during the class or after – Siddarth Seshadri attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.

A very good boot camp. It was intense but was very well conducted. The topics were very relevant and the instructors were more than helpful. This boot camp gives a good start to concepts of data science. Where and how can we apply and get started with it – Remeen Farrokh attended Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp.
